Litigation
Members of chambers are heavily involved in litigation in the real property and property-related fields, including cases involving insolvency, trusts, banking, revenue, professional negligence and Treasury work.
Lists of reported cases can be found under individual members' entries.
One feature which sets us apart from many of our competitors is that, when starting their careers in Falcon Chambers, barristers cut their teeth on possession hearings, interim oral hearings and fast-track witness actions in the county courts. Additionally, early appearances in the Leasehold Valuation Tribunal quickly expose more junior members of Chambers to the art of cross-examining experts. This means that, when it comes to appearing in more substantial matters and in higher courts and tribunals, members of chambers will tend to have a considerable amount of forensic capital to draw upon.
We appear regularly before:
• The House of Lords
• The Privy Council
• The Court of Appeal
• The High Court
• County Courts
• The Lands Tribunal
• Leasehold Valuation Tribunals
• Other tribunals, arbitrators and mediators
Sometimes disputes involve a discrete but important property element. Member of Chambers are used to providing advice and appearing with other specialist counsel or as juniors in such disputes. These can include matrimonial ancillary relief cases, cases before the Tax Commissioners and large commercial disputes where property dealings form an important back-drop to the litigation.
